Keskahahticik is a commemorative art exhibit presented in 2023 by Indigenous Women of the Wabanaki Territories (IWWT) with funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE). It is hosted by the City of Fredericton in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation.
The MMIWG2S+ mixed media art piece was designed by four Wolastoqewi artists: Samaqani Cochaq (Natalie Sappier), Emma Hassencahl-Perley, Shane Perley-Dutcher, and Justin Sappier. Accompanying videography was developed by Wolastoqewi creator Carr Sappier.
Indigenous Women of the Wabanaki Territories (IWWT) dedicates this work to the families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirited+ peoples of Wabanaki Homeland.
